How to cancel Audible

Checked in October 2026 against Audible’s own help pages. Audible typically costs about €9.95 a month (€119.40 a year).

Cancel on the web

  1. Sign in on audible.com (the website, not the app).
  2. Click your name at the top and open Membership details.
  3. Choose Cancel membership and confirm — past the offer to pause.
  4. Look for the confirmation email.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Audible app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Audible, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Audible, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

Benefits end with your last billing cycle. Audiobooks you bought or got with credits stay in your library.

Watch out for

  • Unused credits disappear on cancellation (credits bought through the App Store or Google Play are the exception).
  • No Cancel option? You're probably signed in to a different account from the one with the membership.
  • Deleting the app doesn't cancel the membership.

Cheaper than cancelling?

  • Pause for up to 90 days, once every 12 months, and keep your credits.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Audible in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
