How to cancel Duolingo Super

Super Duolingo is cancelled in the app or on the web, through Settings — deleting the app or your account doesn't stop the billing.

Checked in October 2026 against Duolingo Super’s own help pages. Duolingo Super typically costs about €12.99 a month (€155.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

In the app (iOS or Android): tap the Super icon on the home screen → Settings → Manage subscription → Cancel, then confirm through the App Store, Google Play or Alipay.
On the web: sign in at duolingo.com, open Settings from your profile picture, select Super Duolingo, then Cancel and confirm.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Duolingo Super app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Duolingo Super, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Duolingo Super, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

Super features and your streak stay until the end of the paid period; billing then stops. You can reactivate later, and your progress isn't affected either way.

Refunds

Past charges aren't refunded or prorated.

Watch out for

Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play? The in-app cancel link just redirects you there — finish it in that store's own subscription settings.
Apple can charge the renewal up to 24 hours before it's due, so cancel a day early.
On a Family plan, cancelling drops every member to Duolingo Free at the next billing date, not just the person who cancelled.

Cheaper than cancelling?

The annual plan works out cheaper per month than paying monthly, and a Family plan splits the cost across up to six people.
Duolingo Super Family covers up to 6 people for about €119.99 a year.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Duolingo Super in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
