How to cancel Storytel

Storytel started on its website is cancelled from the Subscription page of your account there; started in the app, it's cancelled with Apple or Google. Not using Storytel, or deleting the app, doesn't end it.

Checked in October 2026 against Storytel’s own help pages. Storytel typically costs about €13.99 a month (€167.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

Sign in to your account page on storytel.com.
Open Subscription and select Cancel under your plan.
Confirm, and keep the confirmation email Storytel sends.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Storytel app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Storytel, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Storytel, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — phone operators and other partners? Cancel in that account, or ask them: Storytel can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

You can keep listening until the end of the period you've paid for. A free trial started on the website ends the moment you cancel it, however many days were left.

Watch out for

Not sure who bills you? The Payments section of your account page says: a card means the website, “App Store” means Apple, “Google Play Store” means Google.
Signed up through a phone operator or another partner? Cancel with them.
Cancelling a website trial early ends it at once, so cancel near the end if you want the full trial.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Storytel in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
