How to cancel Kindle Unlimited
Kindle Unlimited is cancelled from Manage your Kindle Unlimited membership on Amazon. Borrowed books go when the paid month ends.
Checked in October 2026 against Kindle Unlimited’s own help pages. Kindle Unlimited typically costs about €9.99 a month (€119.88 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Sign in on Amazon and open Manage your Kindle Unlimited membership.
- Select Cancel membership and confirm.
What happens after you cancel
The membership stays active until the next billing date. After that, the books you borrowed through it are removed from your devices; books you bought are untouched.
Refunds
Prepaid or gift memberships aren't refunded for unused months.
Watch out for
- Signed up through a third party? Cancel with them.
Cheaper than cancelling?
- A monthly membership can be paused for a month (not during a trial or promotion).
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Kindle Unlimited in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
