How to cancel a subscription

Where the cancel button actually is, what you lose, whether there’s a fee — for 263 services, checked against their own help pages in October 2026.

Any subscription bought on your phone

If you signed up inside an app, Apple or Google bills you, and the cancel button is in your phone’s settings — not in the app.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
2. Tap Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Then check it actually stopped
