How to cancel MasterClass

MasterClass renewal is turned off in Account Settings → Membership on the website, not in the app. A new purchase can be refunded within 30 days.

Checked in October 2026 against MasterClass’s own help pages. MasterClass typically costs about €120 a year.

Cancel on the web

Sign in on masterclass.com and open Settings.
In the Membership section select Cancel Membership and confirm.
Bought through Apple, Google Play or Amazon? Cancel there instead.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the MasterClass app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap MasterClass, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap MasterClass, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — Amazon? Cancel in that account, or ask them: MasterClass can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

Access continues until the renewal date, and a confirmation email follows.

Refunds

A new purchase is fully refundable if you ask support@masterclass.com within 30 days. Renewal payments aren't refundable except where the law requires. Apple, Google Play and Amazon purchases are refunded by those stores.

Watch out for

MasterClass emails a renewal notice 30 days before an annual plan renews — that's the moment to decide.
On Call is a separate subscription with a 7-day refund window.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track MasterClass in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
