How to cancel N26 Smart
N26 Smart is cancelled in the app under My Account → Your membership → Modify or cancel Membership, after the 14-day revocation window. Cancelling the plan doesn't close the bank account.
Checked in October 2026 against N26 Smart’s own help pages. N26 Smart typically costs about €4.90 a month (€58.80 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Open the N26 app and go to My Account → Your membership.
- Select Modify or cancel Membership.
- Within the first 14 days, revoke through support instead.
What happens after you cancel
Without action, the Smart contract (a one-year initial term) renews and then runs indefinitely. Once the term ends the account is downgraded automatically and a Virtual Card is issued.
Watch out for
- To stop the renewal, ask support in the app chat before the 12-month term ends — you keep premium benefits until the plan expires, and a minimum balance of €10 applies.
- Cancelling a plan and closing the account are separate actions.
- On the 60-day Smart trial you're downgraded to Standard automatically after 60 days.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track N26 Smart in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
