How to cancel Apple Music

Apple Music is cancelled on music.apple.com or in Settings → Subscriptions on an iPhone or iPad — deleting the Music app doesn't stop it renewing.

Checked in October 2026 against Apple Music’s own help pages. Apple Music typically costs about €10.99 a month (€131.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

On the web: sign in at music.apple.com, open the account icon → Settings, scroll to Subscriptions and select Manage, then Cancel Subscription.
On iPhone or iPad: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple Music → Cancel Subscription.
On a Mac or PC with iTunes: open the Account menu → View My Account, find Subscriptions, select Manage, then Cancel Subscription.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Apple Music app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Apple Music, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Apple Music, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

Access continues until the Expires date shown on the Subscriptions page, then the account reverts to a free Apple ID with no Apple Music. No Cancel button means it's already set not to renew.

Refunds

Apple doesn't prorate a refund for cancelling partway through a billing period.

Watch out for

Deleting the Music app doesn't cancel the subscription — it keeps renewing.
Cancel a free trial more than 24 hours before it would convert to a paid month.
Billed by a carrier or another company rather than Apple directly? Cancel with them — it won't show up to cancel on music.apple.com.

Apple One bundles Music with iCloud+, TV+ and more for less than paying for each separately, and Family Sharing splits one subscription across up to six people.
Apple Music Family covers up to 6 people for about €16.99 a month.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Apple Music in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
