How to cancel Netflix

Netflix is cancelled from its Manage membership page. Signing out or deleting the app doesn't cancel it.

Checked in October 2026 against Netflix’s own help pages. Netflix typically costs about €13.99 a month (€167.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

  1. Sign in on netflix.com and open Account → Manage membership (or go straight to netflix.com/cancelplan).
  2. Select Cancel, then Finish cancellation.
  3. Check for the confirmation email Netflix sends to the account's address.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Netflix app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Netflix, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Netflix, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — phone, internet and TV providers that bundle Netflix? Cancel in that account, or ask them: Netflix can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

You can keep watching until the end of the period you've paid for; Payment history shows the exact date. Profiles and viewing activity are kept for 24 months in case you come back. An account on hold closes straight away.

Watch out for

  • No Cancel button usually means a partner bills you (Apple, a phone or TV provider) — cancel with them instead.
  • A gift-card or promotional balance keeps the account running until it's used up.

Cheaper than cancelling?

  • Standard with ads costs a fraction of Premium if it's the price, not the service, that's the problem.
  • Netflix Premium (4 screens) covers up to 4 people for about €19.99 a month — only for people who live together.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Netflix in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
