How to cancel beehiiv
A beehiiv plan is downgraded or cancelled in Settings → Billing & Plan → Change → Downgrade. It takes effect at the end of the billing period.
Checked in October 2026 against beehiiv’s own help pages. beehiiv typically costs about €39 a month (€468 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Open Settings → Billing & Plan and click Change under Your Current Plan.
- Click Downgrade for the plan you want, or the free launch plan.
- Changed your mind? Cancel the downgrade before your next billing date from Your Upcoming Plan.
What happens after you cancel
You keep your current plan until the end of the billing period. Downgrading to Free keeps your content, but Redirects stop working until you upgrade again.
Watch out for
- The pause option isn't available on annual billing.
- Deleting the account is a separate, permanent step — downgrading to Free is the alternative.
- Subscribing to someone else's paid newsletter is different: use the footer link in their emails; refunds are up to the publication.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track beehiiv in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
