How to cancel Box
Box Personal Pro is cancelled in Account Settings → Account Details → Cancel Account. Moving to the free Personal plan goes through cancel@box.com.
Checked in October 2026 against Box’s own help pages. Box typically costs about €10 a month (€120 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Click your avatar (upper right) and select Account Settings.
- In Account Details click Cancel Account, complete the survey and click Continue.
- Click Permanently Cancel My Account to confirm.
What happens after you cancel
The account cancels at the end of the service term.
Watch out for
- To downgrade to free Personal instead, email cancel@box.com — it's processed at the end of the term, and you should remove data above 10 GB first.
- A free Personal account can't be cancelled, only deleted (Account Settings → Account Details → Permanently Delete Account).
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Box in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
