How to cancel Dropbox Plus
An individual Dropbox Plus plan is cancelled from Manage account on dropbox.com. Nothing is deleted, but going over the free plan's 2 GB afterwards can block syncing.
Checked in October 2026 against Dropbox Plus’s own help pages. Dropbox Plus typically costs about €11.99 a month (€143.88 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Sign in at dropbox.com and click your avatar in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Manage account.
- Click Cancel plan at the bottom of the page, pick a reason and confirm.

Subscribed in the app?
If you signed up inside the Dropbox Plus app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.
On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Dropbox Plus, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.
Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.
On Android (billed by Google Play)
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Dropbox Plus, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.
Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.
What happens after you cancel
The account switches to the free Basic plan (2 GB) at the end of the current billing cycle, and you won't be charged again. Confirmation arrives by email from no-reply@dropbox.com.
Refunds
Dropbox generally doesn't refund the unused part of a plan, monthly or annual; moving to a higher tier instead gets a prorated credit.
Watch out for
- Over the free plan's 2 GB after downgrading, syncing, uploading and sharing can stop, and Dropbox may remove files you own to bring the account under the limit — move or delete enough first.
- Subscribed through the App Store or Google Play? Manage and cancel it there; Dropbox's own Cancel plan button won't reach it.
Cheaper than cancelling?
- Downgrading to a smaller paid tier instead of cancelling outright, or sharing a Family plan, costs less than paying for Plus alone.
- Dropbox Plus Family covers up to 6 people for about €19.99 a month.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Dropbox Plus in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
