How to cancel Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is cancelled — or set not to renew — from Services & subscriptions in your Microsoft account.

Checked in October 2026 against Microsoft 365’s own help pages. Microsoft 365 typically costs about €7 a month (€84 a year).

Cancel on the web

Sign in at account.microsoft.com/services with the account that bought the subscription.
Find Microsoft 365 and select Manage.
Select Cancel (sometimes “Upgrade or cancel”), or Turn off recurring billing, and follow the steps.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Microsoft 365 app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Microsoft 365, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Microsoft 365, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — shops and Amazon? Cancel in that account, or ask them: Microsoft 365 can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

You can use it until the expiry date. If the page offers “Turn on recurring billing”, it's already set to end — nothing more to do.

Refunds

To check whether you're due a refund you have to cancel first. In many countries, cancelling within 30 days of buying (or before the first renewal) refunds it; some countries refund pro rata.

Watch out for

Bought through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or a shop? Refunds and cancellation go through them — Microsoft didn't take the payment.
The same page holds Xbox Game Pass and other Microsoft subscriptions; make sure you're ending the right one.

Microsoft 365 Family covers six people for less than two Personal plans.
Microsoft 365 Family covers up to 6 people for about €129 a year.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Microsoft 365 in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
