How to cancel iCloud+
iCloud+ is downgraded or cancelled in your iPhone's settings. Make room first, or backups and syncing stop when it ends.
Checked in October 2026 against iCloud+’s own help pages. iCloud+ typically costs about €2.99 a month (€35.88 a year).
Cancel on the web
- iOS 18.4 and later: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → iCloud+ (under Active) → Cancel subscription.
- iOS 18 to 18.3: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Plan.
- iOS 17 and earlier: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Change Storage Plan → Downgrade Options.
What happens after you cancel
The change happens when the current billing period ends. You move to the free 5 GB and lose iCloud+ extras such as Hide My Email and Private Relay.
Watch out for
- If what's stored is over the new limit, iCloud stops syncing and backing up — download or delete enough first.
- Paying for Apple One too? It includes iCloud+ storage, so a separate iCloud+ plan may be a duplicate.
Cheaper than cancelling?
- A smaller plan, or sharing one plan through Family Sharing, is often enough.
- iCloud+ Family Sharing covers up to 6 people at no extra cost — everyone shares the one storage allowance.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track iCloud+ in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
