How to cancel ChatGPT Pro

ChatGPT Pro is cancelled in ChatGPT's billing settings if you paid on the web, or through the App Store / Google Play if you subscribed in the app.

Checked in October 2026 against ChatGPT Pro’s own help pages. ChatGPT Pro typically costs about €200 a month (€2400 a year).

Cancel on the web

Sign in on chatgpt.com and open your account menu → Settings.
Go to Billing (or My Plan, depending on your layout).
Select Cancel plan and confirm.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the ChatGPT Pro app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap ChatGPT Pro, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap ChatGPT Pro, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

Pro features stay until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds

Cancelling doesn't refund past charges or make you eligible for a refund by itself.

Watch out for

Cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date to avoid the next charge.
Uninstalling the app or deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription.

Cheaper than cancelling?

Need less? Downgrade to a cheaper plan at the end of the cycle instead of cancelling.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track ChatGPT Pro in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
