How to cancel Claude Max
Claude Max is cancelled in Settings → Billing on claude.ai or in the desktop app. Subscribed in the iPhone or Android app? Cancel with Apple or Google.
Checked in October 2026 against Claude Max’s own help pages. Claude Max typically costs about €100 a month (€1200 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Sign in on claude.ai (or open Claude Desktop) and click your initials in the lower left.
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Click Cancel and confirm.
Subscribed in the app?
If you signed up inside the Claude Max app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.
On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Claude Max, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.
Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.
On Android (billed by Google Play)
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Claude Max, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.
Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.
What happens after you cancel
You keep Max until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds
Payments are non-refundable except as the Consumer Terms or the law provide; ask through the support messenger on the web. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple — and a refund request doesn't cancel the subscription.
Watch out for
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the next billing date.
- Deleting your account is a separate, permanent step — cancel first and let the plan lapse.
Cheaper than cancelling?
- Switch down to Pro if Max is more than you use.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Claude Max in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
