How to cancel Contabo
A Contabo server is cancelled in the Customer Control Panel with the cancel option on its row. The service stays active until the termination date shown, and its backups and snapshots are deleted.
Checked in October 2026 against Contabo’s own help pages. Contabo typically costs about €4.50 a month (€54 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Log in to the Contabo Customer Control Panel and open the VPS, VDS or Dedicated Servers section.
- Use the cancel option on the product's row, give a reason and check the termination date.
- Confirm the cancellation.
What happens after you cancel
The service stays active until the termination date displayed. Snapshots and backups are deleted and can't be recovered. You can undo the cancellation in the panel until that date.
Refunds
Within 14 days of a new contract you can ask support to revoke it (you accept losing all server data; business accounts aren't eligible). For automatic renewals, refund requests must reach support within 72 hours of the renewal.
Watch out for
- Cancelling your last active product removes the whole account.
- Notice period: none for prepaid products and 4 weeks for post-paid ones.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Contabo in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
