How to cancel Discord Nitro

Nitro is cancelled on whichever platform you bought it on — desktop/browser and mobile purchases each have their own Cancel button, and cancelling one doesn't cancel the other.

Checked in October 2026 against Discord Nitro’s own help pages. Discord Nitro typically costs about €9.99 a month (€119.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

On desktop or in a browser: open User Settings (the cog next to your name) → Subscriptions, select Cancel on the Nitro or Nitro Basic banner, and confirm.
On mobile, if you bought directly through Discord: go to Billing Settings → Manage Nitro and cancel there.
Bought through the App Store or Google Play instead? Cancel in that store — Discord's own settings can't stop it.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Discord Nitro app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Discord Nitro, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Discord Nitro, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

Nitro keeps working until the end of the current billing period. You can reactivate before then at no extra charge; once it lapses, a new subscription is needed.

Refunds

Discord reviews refund requests case by case, filed within 5 days of the purchase at its billing help page, and refunds each purchase category — Nitro, Server Boosts — only once ever. Paysafecard and Orb purchases aren't refundable. Paid through the App Store? Apple handles that refund, not Discord.

Watch out for

Cancelling on the web doesn't cancel a subscription bought in the iOS or Android app, and the other way round.
Redeeming a promotional code within 5 days of a renewal can make that charge ineligible for a refund.

Nitro Basic covers bigger uploads and custom emoji for less than full Nitro.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Discord Nitro in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
