How to cancel GoDaddy domain
A GoDaddy domain or product stops renewing when you turn off auto-renew under Renewals & Billing. Check the add-ons too — each renews on its own.
Checked in October 2026 against GoDaddy domain’s own help pages. GoDaddy domain typically costs about €21.99 a year.
Cancel on the web
- Sign in to GoDaddy and open Renewals & Billing.
- Select Manage Subscriptions, choose the product, then Cancel Plan or Turn off Auto-Renew, and confirm.
- For a domain you can also switch auto-renew off in the Domain Portfolio.

What happens after you cancel
You keep using the product until its end date. If you don't renew it by then it's removed from your account and may not be recoverable.
Refunds
Depends on the product and timing: a one-year domain auto-renewal can be refunded within 45 days, a multi-year or manual renewal within 5 days. Some domain endings are non-refundable.
Watch out for
- A domain has to be in active status before you can change auto-renew.
- Domain Protection asks for identity verification (a one-time code) before changes.
Make sure the charge really stops
