How to cancel ExpressVPN

Checked in October 2026 against ExpressVPN’s own help pages. ExpressVPN typically costs about €12.95 a month (€155.40 a year).

Cancel on the web

  1. Open the My subscription page and sign in.
  2. Select Cancel subscription under Automatic renewal, and follow the prompts.
  3. No such option (often after a failed renewal payment)? Remove your saved payment method to stop renewal.

Open ExpressVPN: My subscription ↗

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the ExpressVPN app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap ExpressVPN, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap ExpressVPN, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

You can keep using ExpressVPN until the last day of the current subscription cycle and aren't billed again.

Refunds

First-time users can get a full refund within 30 days of the initial purchase; ask via the receipts in your account or support chat. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded by those stores.

Watch out for

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends or the next billing date.
  • Paid with Bitcoin or Paymentwall? Those plans don't renew automatically.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track ExpressVPN in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
