How to cancel Google Workspace

Google Workspace for a business is cancelled by an admin in the Admin console under billing — and the users' data is deleted afterwards. Workspace Individual is cancelled from your account management page.

Checked in October 2026 against Google Workspace’s own help pages. Google Workspace typically costs about €8.10 a month (€97.20 a year).

Cancel on the web

Business or organization: as an admin follow Google's cancel guide in the Admin console. Export your data first.
Workspace Individual: open your account management page, choose cancel under the upcoming payment and confirm.
Bought through Google Play or Apple: cancel in that store's subscription settings.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Google Workspace app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Google Workspace, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Google Workspace, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — Google Workspace resellers? Cancel in that account, or ask them: Google Workspace can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

Cancelling stops billing, but after cancellation your users' Workspace data is deleted and can't be restored. On Workspace Individual, access continues until the billing period ends.

Refunds

Workspace Individual is non-refundable except in certain countries listed in Google's policy. Flexible monthly plans stop new charges at once but may bill days already used; annual or fixed-term plans pay the remaining contract balance.

Watch out for

Cancelling doesn't delete user accounts or groups — only the data tied to the subscription.
A Gmail-based Workspace loses premium features and the Admin console immediately, but personal Gmail, Calendar and Meet stay; you can resubscribe later.
Voice and Gemini add-ons, and reseller subscriptions, are cancelled separately.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Google Workspace in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
