How to cancel Mailchimp
Mailchimp is downgraded to Free under Account → Billing → Monthly plans or credits → Change Plan. You can only move from paid to Free once.
Checked in October 2026 against Mailchimp’s own help pages. Mailchimp typically costs about €13 a month (€156 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Open Account → Billing → Monthly plans or credits.
- Under Marketing Plan select Change Plan, pick Free and confirm the downgrade.
- Not keeping the account at all? Close it instead — that's immediate and permanent.
What happens after you cancel
A mid-cycle downgrade keeps your current plan until the cycle ends; Free starts with the next cycle.
Refunds
Closing the account doesn't refund charges already billed.
Watch out for
- The downgrade to Free is available only once in the life of the account.
- Pay As You Go credits are lost when you move to Free.
- On a legacy plan, you can't switch back to it afterwards.
Cheaper than cancelling?
- Pause billing for 3 or 6 months and keep your data.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Mailchimp in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
