How to cancel Proton Drive Plus

Proton Drive Plus is cancelled at account.proton.me under Settings → Subscription. Your files stay, but storage drops to the free limit.

Checked in October 2026 against Proton Drive Plus’s own help pages. Proton Drive Plus typically costs about €4.99 a month (€59.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

Sign in at account.proton.me and open any Proton service.
Settings → All settings → Subscription, scroll to the cancellation option and click Continue.
Click Cancel subscription to confirm.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Proton Drive Plus app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Proton Drive Plus, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Proton Drive Plus, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

What happens after you cancel

The plan stays active until the end of the billing period and doesn't renew. If your files exceed the Free plan's storage you'll be asked to remove data before downgrading.

Refunds

Cancelled within 30 days of the initial purchase, the unused part is refunded pro rata; after that, refunds are at Proton's discretion. Only for purchases made directly with Proton.

Watch out for

Moving to Free ends any bonus storage you've accumulated.
Bought in the iPhone or Android app? Cancel in that store.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Proton Drive Plus in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
