How to cancel Squarespace
A Squarespace website subscription is cancelled in the site's Billing panel → Subscriptions. The domain is a separate subscription and keeps renewing.
Checked in October 2026 against Squarespace’s own help pages. Squarespace typically costs about €16 a month (€192 a year).
Cancel on the web
- Open the site's Billing panel and go to Subscriptions.
- Select the website subscription → Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.
- Don't want the domain either? Turn off its auto-renew separately (or cancel it within 5 days of registering for a full refund).
What happens after you cancel
A cancelled monthly subscription stops at the end of the billing cycle. Within the refund window you can end it immediately and take the site offline.
Watch out for
- The domain stays registered and keeps renewing until you turn off its auto-renew.
- Google Workspace through Squarespace is billed separately and keeps renewing after you cancel the site.
- Country domains (ccTLDs) have no 5-day cancellation window.
- Once a domain expires there's no guarantee you can buy it again.
Make sure the charge really stops
Track Squarespace in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
