How to cancel Surfshark

Surfshark is cancelled by turning off auto-renewal under Subscription → Payments on its website. Cancelling doesn't refund anything — that's a separate request within 30 days.

Checked in October 2026 against Surfshark’s own help pages. Surfshark typically costs about €12.95 a month (€155.40 a year).

Cancel on the web

Sign in to your Surfshark account on the website.
Select your email address (top right) → Subscription → Payments.
Select Cancel auto-renewal and confirm — or ask live chat to do it.
No cancel option? You probably bought through an app store; cancel there.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the Surfshark app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Subscriptions.
Tap Surfshark, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Tap Surfshark, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — Amazon? Cancel in that account, or ask them: Surfshark can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

The subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, and nothing more is charged.

Refunds

The 30-day money-back guarantee covers only the first purchase — contact live chat within 30 days. Renewals and unused time aren't refunded. Purchases via Apple, Google Play or Amazon are refunded by those stores.

Watch out for

Turning off auto-renewal doesn't trigger a refund on its own.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track Surfshark in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
