How to cancel YouTube Music

YouTube Music Premium is cancelled on the Paid memberships page. YouTube Premium already includes it, so paying for both is a duplicate.

Checked in October 2026 against YouTube Music’s own help pages. YouTube Music typically costs about €10.99 a month (€131.88 a year).

Cancel on the web

  1. Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships, signed in to the account that pays.
  2. Select Manage membership next to YouTube Music Premium.
  3. Select Deactivate, then Yes, cancel.
  4. Look for the confirmation email from @youtube.com, or check the end date at youtube.com/purchases.

Subscribed in the app?

If you signed up inside the YouTube Music app on your phone, Apple or Google bills you, and only they can cancel it.

On an iPhone or iPad (billed by Apple)

  1. Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap YouTube Music, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Not listed there? Apple doesn’t bill you for it — use the steps above. If it’s listed under Expired, it’s already cancelled.

On Android (billed by Google Play)

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap YouTube Music, then Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.

Deleting the app on either phone does not cancel anything.

Billed by someone else — phone carriers and other YouTube partners? Cancel in that account, or ask them: YouTube Music can’t end a subscription it doesn’t bill.

What happens after you cancel

You won't be charged again, and Music Premium keeps working until the end of the billing cycle.

Refunds

The time between cancelling and the end of the cycle isn't refunded. For an immediate cancellation with a refund, contact YouTube support; Apple-billed memberships follow Apple's refund rules.

Watch out for

  • Subscribed on an iPhone but billed by Google? Cancel from a computer or Android device, not from iOS.
  • Billed by a partner such as a phone carrier? Cancel with that partner.
  • Paying for YouTube Premium too? Cancel Music Premium — Premium includes it.

Cheaper than cancelling?

  • Pause the membership instead of cancelling (not available when Apple bills you).
  • YouTube Music Family covers up to 6 people for about €16.99 a month — only for people who live together.

Make sure the charge really stops

Track YouTube Music in Cancely and mark it cancelled: the day before it would have renewed, you get a reminder to check your statement — so a cancellation that didn’t take doesn’t cost you another month.
